Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to supply any personal information?
No. The only thing we ask for is a parent's email address so that we can make sure they are happy for their child to upload films to our app and You Tube channel. We do not need to know your location, your name or any other personal information. In fact, we actively discourage including any of this information in your films.
Can parents see what films their children are uploading?
The first time a child posts a film, an email notification will be sent to parents. Parents will have to accept the request before the film can be uploaded. Every time a child posts a further film, an email will be sent to parents advising them that a film has been uploaded. They can view their child's film on the app. They will have a 48 hour window to do this before the film goes live. If they are unhappy, they can request that the film is not posted or that it is taken down.
Are the films moderated?
Yes. We have a team of moderators who have a list of guidelines ensuring that any film posted is suitable for our age group.
Who are Play Scotland?
Play Scotland is the national organisation for play in Scotland, working to promote the importance of play for all children and young people. It campaigns to create increased play opportunities in the communities across Scotland. Visit www.playscotland.org for more information.
Can people make comments on the films?
No. People can 'like' their favourite films but no comments can be made.
Are there any in-app purchases?
No - the app is completely free to download and to use.
Is this purely online play?
No. The app has been designed to encourage play across a number of different areas. We see it as 'why don't you?' for the digital generation.
Who designed and made the app?
The app was designed and made by Made in Me
